Company History

Richmond Williamson, a native of Danville, Virginia, had a vision to establish self-service laundry facilities to meet the community’s needs. This vision became a reality in 1959 when the first coin laundry was opened in Danville thus establishing Associated Services Corporation. Associated Services Corporation expanded through the years throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Williamson ran the business from his Danville office until his death in 1988.

The Company was purchased in 1988 by John W. Kluge. Mr. Kluge’s management staff ran the Company from the Danville location and expanded it into the largest coin laundry business in America. In addition to the Virginia and North Carolina locations, Kluge added South Carolina locations making Associated Services Corporation a multi-million dollar corporation.

In January 2005, Associated Services Corporation was purchased by Michael Finkelstein, a native of Baltimore, Maryland. Finkelstein works directly with his management team and has a vision of not only having the largest coin laundry company in America, but the best coin laundries in America. The main office is still located in Danville, Virginia with an overall staff of 196 full-time and part-time personnel. Associated Services Corporation currently owns and operates over 90 laundry facilities.
